The Villa

This 1954 villa, distinguished by its traditional thatched roof, formed the basis for a subtle and carefully considered renovation. Rather than pursuing radical intervention, the project focused on refinement. Enhancing the existing architecture through material, colour and detail.

In the kitchen, a minimal approach was taken. The original cabinetry was retained and given a new colour, allowing its character to remain intact. The introduction of natural stone. Most notably in the backsplash. Adds depth and a quiet sense of drama, bringing a layered richness to the space without disturbing its calm.

The bathrooms were fully renovated using carefully selected natural materials. Bespoke stone basins and refined finishes create a serene, hotel-like atmosphere. A newly created connection between the bathroom and bedroom enhances both spatial flow and everyday comfort.

Throughout the house, custom-built cabinetry with decorative mouldings was introduced, referencing the period of the home and lending a timeless elegance.

The result is a warm and inviting family residence. Contemporary in use, restrained in expression and perfectly in harmony with its green, tranquil surroundings.
